This Enchanted Wood
By Julie McElhinney
I’m lost on this path
But somehow I don’t mind,
I discover mysteries here
Even though I’m walking blind.
I appreciate the shade
Of the green leaves above,
And I feel an inner piece
Full of warmth and eternal love.
I know I’ll find my way
If I believe in the destination,
And take care to watch my step
With the slightest hesitation.
Perhaps I am lost
For a specific sort of reason,
To appreciate the not knowing
As I travel through this season.
So I trudge on with my pack
That feels lighter than it should,
As I travel on this path
Through this enchanted wood.
