Glinda crown that I made for Meggie. I hope she doesn't tear it up.

FWD:

Ok now Meggie is going to be Glinda the good witch of the North. She had a plain pink satin dress and I added the sparkly sheer pink fabric tonight. I already made her a wand and she has a crown.

I was so excited to find these glass bottles on clearance today at Joann's. I used the Cricut Happy Hauntings cartridge to make the decorations. I embelished them with glitter pens and metallic silver pens. I used the Xyron sticker maker to attach the designs. I just need to find a couple of old corks to put in them.

My completed centerpiece.

I decided to do the candles with more of a Fall theme so I can keep them out longer. The light orange paper is embossed with the Cuttlebug swirl pattern. I'm love how they turned out. I'm getting excited to make more decorations.

Scrap Happy Paper Crafter
October 15, 2011
I’m so looking forward to Halloween!  Here are a few ideas that I found for the Halloween party so far.

I love the candle idea for a centerpiece on the table. I already have a number of plain candles that I can decorate with Happy Hauntings die cuts and ribbon!

I really like the idea of doing the felt candy corn bag for favors for the guests.  From what I can tell, they are pretty easy to make.  I guess I will give it a try.

Crafting Time Is Coming

Well blogger friends, I will have the next three weeks off from work and I am so looking forward to preparing for Halloween.  I'm planning on having a Halloween / 30th Birthday party for me on the 30th.  We will be mourning the loss of my 20's...may they rest in peace!  It's the same day that we will be doing Trick-Or-Treat in the neighborhood, so I'm super excited.  I'll be making lots of decorations with my Cricut and I'm looking foward to coming up with fun games and prizes for the kids and older kids that come.  I think it will be so much fun!!!

SWEETEST DAY CHOCOLATES

S'mores card?

So I'm contemplating making a S'mores card this week.  I'm feeling inspired by the super cute s'mores mugs that I found.  I just have to figure out exactly how I'm going to do it.  If I do it right I think it could be really awesome!

Mistake on Freshly Picked Cartridge

So while I was making the little gnome girl on the Freshly Picked cartridge I noticed a mistake.  On the picture of the gnome girl she is supposed to be able to have a white apron, but none of the keys cut the white apron part that has the lace to go around her throat.  This was kind of a bummer actually because I had to try to draw on the lacey part with white gel pen, which I don't think turned out the best.

Have you noticed any cartridges that have mistakes?

The Create A Critter cow has a mistake as well.  Two of the layer keys are interchanged and not printed the same in the book as it cuts on the machine.  I hope that made sense.  :o)

This is a fun project that I just started tonight. I like to stop at Goodwill every once in awhile and see if I can get inspired to recycle one of their items into a new craft project. I found this great white recipe box that I'm decorating. So far I've used Happy Hauntings for the grass and Freshley Picked for everything else. I have a lot more to do on it.

Cubicle Decoration

I wanted to ad a little fun to my cubicle at work this week.  I finally finished my cubicle decoration.  I took a 12x12 piece of cardboard from the back of one of my paper stacks.  Stapled a piece of brown ribbon to the cardboard and covered both sides with 12x12 orange plaid cardstock from one of my baby girl paper stacks.  I used ZOTS to put on my flowers, buttons, and leave embelishments.  I used the Create A Critter cartridge for the pumpkins, leaves, and turkey side.  I used the Happy Hauntings cartridge for the Halloween side.  I really love the Happy Hauntings cartridge.  You can make so many fun decorations for Halloween with it.  This is the cartridge that I used for my door decoration too.

Curious Question:

Where do you get your Cricut cartridges and on average how much do you spend on them?

I ask because a friend thought that I was spending full price for my cartridges, which I've never done. I think the most I've ever spent is $39.99 at Joann's when their cartridges are on sale..  I've only ever gotten two Cricut cartridges directly from a retailer and that was because I couldn't find them cheaper through a seller online.  The majority of my cartridges were all purchased on Ebay for great deals.  I think we are all pretty much on a budget these days, otherwise I would buy ever Provocraft and Pink Stamper item I could get my hands on.  I would definitely have both a Cricut Imagine and the anniversary edition of the Cricut Expression. My wish list is pretty extensive.  :o)

Curious Question 2:
What would you buy if you could afford to get it right away for your craft items?

I finished my Halloween/Thanksgiving decoration for my cubicle at work. Both sides are decorated so I can just flip it over when Halloween is over.

I had some extra chocolate after making some chocolate suckers to sell for Sweetest Day. I got the idea to make some smores. Mmmmm. My daughter got a chocolate covered banana cookie too. Fun!

Todays' Christmas Card

The reindeer in todays' post is from the Create A Critter cartridge at the end of the book.  I love how Create A Critter also include a few holiday pages.  It has Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas themes at the end of the book.

I'm loving these snowflake accents that I got from Joann's.  There are a lot of uses for them on my Christmas cards and I like the little shimmer that they let off.  Again, I found these in the button isle if you want to look for something similar.  I mostly shop there for craft supplies since it's less than a mile away from me and I get some great coupons online.

I still don't feel like I'm challenging myself all that much yet on the difficulty of cards.  Todays' card was a little more time consuming because of all of the gluing of the die cuts, but still not very difficult.  I want to try to do an easel card at some point for Christmas since I haven't done one yet.  Maybe I'll get motivated to go outside my comfort zone and try it.

I'm really really happy with how this card turned out. I think I'm getting more in the mood for Christmas cards now.

Christmas Card

I'm not too excited about todays Christmas card.  I think I need some more inspiration.  I may have to start watching Christmas movies this week.  I know it's only the beginning of October, but I'm really in the mood to watch "White Christmas."

this is a penguin Christmas card that I made awhile ago. The penguin is from Create A Critter. I made the little charm out of polymer clay for a jewelry project. I had some left over, so I decided to put them on cards.

A big thank you to

A big thank you to The Pink Stamper for getting me inspired to finally start working on my Christmas cards. Pinkstamper.com

I had fun doing this card. It has a secret message slot.
