Ode To A Dieing Plant

At work my team decided to have a contest to see who could grow the best plant IN THE OFFICE.  We all used the same dirt and planted seeds and watched them grow.  Suddenly all of our plants slowly started to die off after some gnats hatched in the dirt we used.  This is the poem I wrote today to commemorate my throwing my poor dead plant away.

Ode To A Dieing Plant
By Julie McElhinney

Oh your leaves were green and full
Surrounded by your friends,
But now you’re falling down
As your short life comes to an end.

You go to a better place
As quick as a flash,
As I throw your sorry pot
Into the nearest trash.
