A Sunday Poem

The Cliché Of Life
By Julie McElhinney

In every life some rain must fall
Whether it’s a sprinkle or a monsoon,
We all face our hardships
Feeling helpless and full of gloom.

Some say the grass looks greener
When you look at the other side,
But when you have no grass at all
You feel like you want to hide.

Some say when one door closes
Another is soon to open,
But when you find your door is locked
You feel eternally broken.

Life is not an easy cliché
That can be solved in a sentence,
Each person faces a different day
Within each and every instance.
